A Major part of the Career Development course is the Job Shadowing experience. This is a chance for students to arrange a day out of the classroom and onto the work site. This could be as simple as joining a parent at their work, but students are encouraged to make contacts in the community with jobs they would like as a career.
The Job Shadowing project is worth 15% of the Career Course. So as part of the assignment students will prepare some interview questions for their host, arrange the outing time based on their host's availabilitiy, and then prepare a report of what they did and learned during the job shadowing experience. This report can be a written assignment, a power point presentation, a self made video or a verbal presentation given to class.

To help prepare for the job shadowing interview, students will complete Worksheet #9 on the Career Cruising site. Side one of the sheet should be taken from the interview of a person in a job related to your job shadowing host and must be passed in. Side two of the worksheet can be used to record notes from your interview as a way of preparing for the job shadowing presentation.
