The Inuit Games are a collection of events which participants challenge each other with skills that relate to living and survival skills for life in the North or in imitation of the wildlife of our region. There are games based on strength, speed, flexibility and agility designed to improve survival skills or just to provide entertainment through the long arctic winter. Most of the games events use very little equipment because they are designed to do anywhere in the Arctic.
The Inuit Games are ancient in their origins and still take place today. Many of the games may have been learned in Asia, before the modern Inuit migrated across the Being Sea about 2000 B.C.
